China Humanoid Standard Lands as Zhiyuan Revenue Nears RMB2B

China's humanoid robot national standard was published after a three-year wait, giving the sector a unified compliance baseline. Zhiyuan reported nearly RMB2 billion in H1 2026 revenue and a 43% share of the global humanoid robot market, according to company disclosures. Policy infrastructure and commercial concentration now sit on the same timeline.

Unitree's first financial report showed revenue and R&D spending both rising, indicating leading Chinese makers are still investing through the commercialization phase. Agility Robotics now expects about $465 million in SPAC gross proceeds, down from $620 million initially projected, as it funds Digit 5. Capital is being repriced toward delivery schedules rather than platform narratives.

Technical validation remains uneven. UBTECH tested GPT-6 Astra across six tasks; direct grasping failed in real-robot trials, while bowl stacking succeeded through a collaborative model. A dexterous hand completed 72 production steps on a cross-city live line, finishing 30 seconds slower than manual workers. Zhiyuan, Tsinghua and Infinigence AI introduced Collective Experience Learning with 96 real robots sharing successes and failures. These results indicate generalist policies still break down at contact-rich manipulation, while fleet learning and task engineering narrow the gap.

Deployment is splitting into price tiers. Noetix launched a RMB9,998 humanoid, Bumi, for education and companionship, while D-Robotics and Unitree released an embodied AI education solution on the Sunrise S100 platform. A collaborative robot unicorn raised RMB800 million across two rounds in six months and deployed embodied AI on an AI optical infrastructure production line. Education and industrial lines are becoming parallel proving grounds.

The observation points are standard implementation costs and whether metrics such as Worken gain acceptance, plus whether 96-robot fleet learning can reduce contact-rich failures in factory tasks. Commercial concentration will be tested by delivery data.
