Zijin Mining Subsidiary to Invest 1B Yuan in AI, Embodied Intelligence Fund
Zijin Mining said its wholly owned subsidiary, Zijin Xiamen Equity, intends to act as a limited partner and subscribe 1 billion yuan to the Xiamen Times Shenyuan Venture Capital Fund, representing a 20.4081% subscribed interest. The fund has total subscribed capital of 4.9 billion yuan, with an investment focus on artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, technology applications and frontier technologies. The filing frames the move as a financial investment by the mining group into advanced technology sectors. The announcement did not disclose the fund manager, other limited partners or a deployment timetable. At 1 billion yuan, Zijin Xiamen Equity would hold about one-fifth of the vehicle, giving it minority exposure while the fund targets private technology companies. The commitment highlights continued interest from Chinese industrial groups in AI and robotics-related assets.
