Tesla Ramps Optimus Production to Hundreds Weekly, Targets 1,000 by Year-End

Tesla is accelerating production of its Optimus humanoid robot, with output at its Fremont, California factory now reaching several hundred units per week. That marks roughly a tenfold increase from the second quarter, when the company was producing only dozens of units weekly during small-batch testing.

The ramp reflects Tesla's push to move Optimus from prototype validation toward scalable manufacturing. Management reportedly wants to establish a continuously operating automated production line before the end of this year.

The year-end target is more than 1,000 Optimus robots per week. If achieved, the milestone would represent one of the fastest production scale-ups for a humanoid robot and a significant step toward commercial deployment.

The production increase comes as automakers and tech firms race to commercialize humanoid robots. Tesla has positioned Optimus as a general-purpose platform, initially for factory tasks, with potential future use in homes and other industries.
