Chinese Robots Head to Global Shelves After 10,000 Hours of Practice
In Hefei, Anhui province, a unique training facility for embodied intelligence robots has been set up, where robots repeatedly practice household chores like wiping tables, picking oranges, and hanging clothes. These actions, simple for a 6-year-old child, require hundreds of repetitions daily as the robots learn to adjust their movements precisely.
The training grounds replicate real-world environments such as living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, supermarket shelves, and factory assembly lines. By collecting massive amounts of data on robot interactions, engineers aim to improve the robots' dexterity and decision-making. After over 10,000 hours of "hard practice," these made-in-China robots are now ready to compete internationally, moving from local labs to global store shelves.
