Deep Robotics Robot Dog Runs Full Course in Level-14 Typhoon with Zero Faults
On September 24, the Zhejiang stop of CCTV's first Intelligent Robot Application Skills Exhibition took place in Hangzhou. The event drew more than 60 companies and over 300 intelligent robots, setting a competitive stage for embodied AI and robotics.
Deep Robotics entered the Lynx M20S, a wheeled-legged robot designed for complex terrain. Its challenge simulated compound extreme operations: urban flooding and traversal of complex obstacles under Level-14 typhoon conditions. The robot completed the entire practical assessment with zero faults and zero errors.
The company attributed the result to its self-developed AI motion control algorithm and a highly flexible wheel-leg composite joint structure. These systems allowed the robot to maintain stable, controllable movement throughout strong wind interference.
Such performance matters for disaster response. Urban floods and severe storms create unstable, obstacle-filled environments where conventional wheeled or legged platforms may struggle. The Lynx M20S test suggests wheel-legged robots can support emergency inspection, rescue, and infrastructure monitoring in extreme weather. The event underscored the growing role of embodied AI in public safety and disaster preparedness.
