D-Robotics, Paxini Deals Signal VC/PE Push into Robotics, AI Drug Discovery
On September 17, D-Robotics announced a $400 million Series C round, underscoring sustained investor appetite for robotics and AI-driven drug discovery. Mirae Asset led the round, while Meituan Strategic Investment joined as a strategic backer.
Government-linked platforms such as Hefei State Investment, Nanshan Strategic Emerging Investment, and Jingquan Capital also participated. The round attracted institutional investors including Cathay Capital, Huamei International Investment Group, GF Xinde, Beyond Moore, and Qihang Investment's Xinchip Phase II Fund.
The company did not disclose its post-money valuation or specific use of proceeds. The breadth of the syndicate signals that first-tier VC and PE firms are continuing to place bets on embodied AI and automation, even as broader funding conditions remain selective. Hillhouse Venture Capital was also mentioned in the report as an active investor in the sector.
D-Robotics' raise follows a wave of Chinese robotics deals in 2024. It suggests that capital is concentrating on companies with clear commercialization paths in industrial and service robotics.
