Unitree's STAR Market listing has given back roughly 55% of its debut peak, while Guangdong province reports more than 2,000 humanoid robots already deployed in manufacturing and projects the provincial total to exceed 3,000 by end-2026. The two figures frame the day: capital repricing on one side, measured deployment on the other.
Funding data points to selective conviction rather than broad enthusiasm. Zhishen Technology closed a several-hundred-million-yuan Series B led by UAE-based Stone Venture, a rare Middle East entry into a Chinese robotics developer. Shenshi Weishi completed three rounds in under a year, with welding as its industrial entry point, suggesting investors are concentrating on verticals with definable payback periods.
Hardware cost and software reliability are moving at different speeds. Unitree priced the Dex5-S, a 22-DOF hand at 1:1 human scale, from 39,900 yuan, a level that widens the addressable buyer set. GPT-6 Astra reached 95% success on a robot-control task with fewer tokens than Fable 5.1, yet RoboDojo logged unsafe actions and hardware damage forcing early termination, showing control benchmarks and real-world safety remain decoupled.
Industrial integration is advancing through supply chains rather than single products. XPeng convened its first robot supply-chain partner conference and states designated suppliers are signed for mass production; CRRC exhibited a metro train using embodied intelligence at InnoTrans in Berlin. Intrinsic open-sourced Intrinsic Core under Apache 2.0 at ROSCon 2026, lowering the entry barrier for application builders. UBTech issued an ethics white paper setting three protection goals covering action, application and data control.
Two observation points follow. First, whether repeat orders replace listing events as the metric exchanges and investors use to screen humanoid developers. Second, whether provincial deployment targets convert into sustained utilization rates, which will determine whether current valuations hold a floor.
