Wandelbots is a Dresden-based Physical AI platform company that puts robot programming, simulation validation and shop floor execution into one hardware-agnostic software layer, so the same robot application moves between simulation and real cells.
Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from TU Dresden and headquartered in Dresden, Germany. The company has raised about EUR 115 million in total, including a USD 84 million Series C in 2022 led by Insight Partners with participation from existing investors such as 83North and Microsoft M12. Around 2023 it exited its TracePen hardware business to focus on software, then launched the NOVA platform in 2024. Co-founder Christian Piechnick is CEO.
NOVA is one platform in three connected parts. NOVA OS is the execution layer that links applications to supported robot controllers, with physically accurate virtual robots and Chunk Streaming of motion sequences from external planners or AI policies. The developer tools include an NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim extension with Ghost Teaching reachability checks, the no-code workflow tool NOVA Flow, and Python SDKs. NOVA Cloud covers instance management, roles and permissions, integrations and cloud instances.
Customers and partners concentrate in automotive and industrial manufacturing (Schaeffler, Volkswagen, 3M) and in the automation ecosystem (FANUC, KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots, Yaskawa, SCHUNK, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Tech Mahindra, SoftServe). In October 2026 Schaeffler entered a technology partnership that uses NOVA as its Physical AI platform, and support for Techman Robot cobots was added the same month.
