
The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), founded in 1988, is Germany's leading research institution for innovative software technologies based on artificial intelligence methods, with sites in Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken, Bremen, and Lower Saxony.
Its Robotics Innovation Center (RIC) in Bremen, led by Professor Frank Kirchner, employs around 125 researchers and focuses on developing intelligent robotic systems for complex tasks on land, underwater, in the air, and in space.
